Details of parish boundary reviews and changes since 1894. Parts of the original parish of Compton were used to create Olivers Battery and Badger Farm parishes. Our parish was renamed Compton & Shawford in 1985.
Issues covered in this month’s meeting included Shawford Station, maintenance of Shawford Down, the old Captain Barnard site, the annual pavilion inspection, and the handling of the request for a fourth tennis court.

The council took a decision on new equipment for the QE II Playing Field in Compton Street, reviewed a recent survey of the parish hall caretaker’s cottage, and learned that the rector had agreed that the PCC would take over responsibility for the Civic Service. They agreed to oppose the Boundary Commission’s draft ward proposals.
