Shawford Road Closure March 2021 

Dear Customer,

Subject: Urgent water main repairs – Shawford Road, Winchester

Southern Water has identified a leak on a water main where the pipe crosses the River Itchen on Shawford Road.

Due to the proximity to the river, we need to carry out an urgent repair.

Work is due to begin on Monday 1st March and is expected to take up to 6 weeks to complete.

While the repair is underway, a short 100m section of Shawford Road will be closed to traffic from the junction with Bridge Lane just East of the railway bridge, with a local diversion route in place.

Vehicle access will be maintained for those properties within this short road closure section.
