Sparrowgrove Woods

SOCCT

Sparrowgrove and Oakwood Copse Conservation Trust (SOCCT) is a Charitable Trust set up in 2009.

Its purpose was to purchase these 33 acres of natural woodland across two close sites and then to manage them for continued conservation, recreation and education for local residents.

It was, and continues to be, funded by local donations assisted by the two local Parish Councils and the HMRC Gift Aid scheme.

It is managed by local trustees assisted by local volunteers.

Trustees Needed

A number of our trustees are retiring and as a result we need 3 new trustees.

SOCCT has worked for the last 10 years to maintain the Sparrowgrove and Oakwood Copse, holding monthly maintenance working parties and making sure the woodlands are a safe and enjoyable space for all users and neighbours.

We have also held Easter Egg Hunts for the children of the village, and we are lucky to have financial support from our members and Compton and Shawford and Otterbourne Parish Councils.

If you are interested in becoming a trustee and live in the Parishes of Otterbourne or Compton and Shawford , please contact me at
If you want more information on the Charity, please go to www.socct.org.
