Extra Sunday Trains from Shawford in August

Bridge Inn from Shawford StationSouth West Trains have agreed to increase their normal two hourly Sunday service to hourly for six weeks from 21st July 2013 over the summer holidays.

If the extra services are used they may become a regular feature!
They agreed to do this as an experiment following requests I had received from residents for a return to an hourly Sunday service.

Trains leave Shawford north bound for Winchester, and London at 17 minutes past the hour. In the southbound direction trains leave at 12 minutes past the hour.

The train divides at Eastleigh so you can join the front five carriages for a day out in Bournemouth or the rear five carriages for a day out in Portsmouth.

Group Save fares apply on these services and are available from the ticket machine at Shawford station so a family of four can travel for the price of two.

Please remember when returning to Shawford to be in the very front coach as only that door will open due to the short platform.

Why not give it a try!
