Join a Discovery Ride and explore the Downs on your doorstep!

This autumn come on a Discovery Rides and explore some of the great places to see and do exciting things in the South Downs National Park by bike. See the full programme at www.southdowns.gov.uk/discoveryrides.

Blackberry picking, wildlife, woodlands and autumn colours, local history, visiting a farm or improving your photography skills are just some of the things to discover.

Discovery Rides start from the South Downs gateway towns of Winchester, Shoreham, Peacehaven and Eastbourne and follow leafy country lanes and off-road trails to show you new ways to explore your local area.

There’s something for everyone with themed rides for all ages and abilities, each ride lasts from 1 to 2.5 hours and roll along at a relaxed pace.

Don’t have a bike?
Adults and children’s bike are available to hire for a specially discounted price just £5 per bike (please book in advance), see Discovery Rides webpage for more info.

Gears slipping, brakes rubbing?
Get a free bike check from the bike doctor. A qualified cycle mechanic will be on hand before the rides to make minor adjustments to get your bike running more smoothly and give advice on repairs.
