Cleaning of M3 Underpasses

A letter which had been received from Winchester City Council, concerning their liability and frequency of cleaning the M3 underpasses in Place Lane and in Shepherds Lane, proved unsatisfactory to the Parish Council, and it was agreed that it be the subject of enquiries by City Cllr Beckett

Cleaning of M3 Underpasses at Place Lane and at Shepherds Lane

A letter had been received from Winchester City Council, advising that they are responsible for the cleaning of these subways under the terms of the Environmental Protection Act, but the Parish Council have written seeking agreement for the cleaning of Shepherds Lane to be continued by the Parish Council with Winchester City Council paying costs.

May 1995

Following near completion of the Shepherds Lane subway, a date is to be sought for handover by Tarmac when the Parish Council will accept liability for cleaning.
