Otterbourne Hill Overnight Closures

As part of Operation Resilience, Programme Manager Richard Peach tells us:

Further to my previous emails, this is to let you know that we will be undertaking carriageway resurfacing works on Otterbourne Hill and Main Road, from its junction with Winchester Road up to the entrance to the White Horse Public House.

The resurfacing works, originally planned to begin on 6 May, are now programmed to start on Tuesday 10 May 2022 and will last for approximately two weeks; during this time the road will be closed to through traffic from approximately 20:00 to 06:00hrs each night. The road will be open outside of these hours. No works will be carried out over the weekends.

Whilst there is an allowance within the time periods shown above for delays, there may be times when we have to postpone works at very short notice; based on the latest weather forecasts, this can occur just prior to works commencing. We will always look to provide up to date information wherever we can, but sometimes these last minute decisions can be difficult to relay to the travelling public in a timely manner. When we can, any significant changes to the scheduled dates will be made clear on the yellow sign boards located at the works limits.

Information signs advising road users will be erected prior to the start of works. Local residents and business will be advised by letter, and a copy of this email will be sent to Winchester City Council and Otterbourne Parish Council to advise them accordingly.

Should you have any questions or require further information please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

Richard
