M3 J9-14 Overnight Slip Road Closures

Overnight Slip Road Closures

Dear all

Work to improve journeys by upgrading the M3 motorway is planned to start later this year. We’ll be installing narrow lanes in both directions between junction 9 at Winchester and junction 14 at Eastleigh, and the hard shoulder will be used as a running lane. This will provide a safe working area in the central reservation, whilst keeping three lanes open during the daytime.

To get the hard shoulder ready for this, perpetration work continues under daytime hard shoulder closures, overnight lane closures with some planned carriageway and/or slip road closures. All traffic management for full overnight carriageway and/or slip road closures will usually be rolled out from 9pm and taken off by 6am.

Planned closures for this week are:

Overnight on Monday 11 and Tuesday 12 October 2021

  • M3 junction 11 – the M3 junction 11 southbound entry slip road will be closed
  • Diversion: join the M3 at junction 11 northbound, continue to junction 10, turn around and re-join the M3 at junction 10 southbound
