The Parish Council has just received this letter giving advance notice of M3 overnight closures between junctions 11  (Winchester) and 12 (Chandlers Ford).

Dear Stakeholder,

M3 Junctions 11 Winchester to 12 Chandlers Ford, Hampshire: Resurfacing

Kier Highways, on behalf of Highways England, will be resurfacing sections of the M3 north and southbound carriageways between junctions 11 and 12, to ensure the network remains in a safe condition. We undertake the majority of resurfacing works on the Strategic Road Network using a lower noise material, which is thinner than conventional Hot Rolled Asphalt and has qualities which reduces noise levels.

Work is scheduled to start on Monday 12 February 2018 and is due to be completed by Monday 26 February 2018.

For the safety of our workforce and customers, the majority of the work will be done whilst fully closing the M3 overnight, between 9pm and 6am (Monday to Friday only) with a clearly signed diversion will be in place via Shawford and Otterbourne. On some nights there will be lane closures only.

Please be aware that these works have been carefully programmed but are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances – please check the yellow signs placed in advance at the junction for confirmation of the closures dates/timings.
