About the Parish Hall

The Parish Hall is owned by the Parish Council on behalf of the community and is operated by the Compton & Shawford Community Association (CASCA).

The Parish Hall has three rooms available for hire.

  • The main Shawford Hall with a capacity of about 110 and an adjoining kitchen.
  • The Compton Room, a small meeting room.
  • The upstairs Heathcote Room.

The hall is generally closed for maintenance (and not available for hire) during August.

Parking: the hall car park has spaces for about 20 cars. During the working day there are unlikely to be any parking spaces available on the roads near the hall, so for large meetings you should encourage attendees to come by public transport or car pool.

Public Transport: Shawford Station is only a couple of minutes’ walk away. During the working day there is an hourly service on the main Waterloo-Winchester-Southampton-Weymouth line. Slightly further away, at the top of Shawford Hill, the Bluestar No 1 bus service between Winchester and Southampton runs every fifteen minutes (during working hours).
