M3 junction 9 improvements project update

details received from National Highways

The M3 junction 9 improvements project is getting ready to start its main work in April.

In preparation of the main traffic management going in, we will be installing temporary CCTV and average speed cameras alongside the M3 at junction 9, the A34 and the A33. These cameras will be covered and not be in use until main works begin on the project in late April.

Our overnight closures will usually start from 8pm and finish by 6am but this can change depending on the volume of traffic and when we can close the road safely.

Our diversion routes are designed to suit all vehicle types.

We advise you not to use a Satnav when following any of our diversions because there is a risk it could direct you down an unsuitable road or back onto our network when it is closed.

Daytime works

We will continue to remove areas of topsoil and conduct archaeological surveys. These activities will take place away from the road, but you may see workers and machinery nearby.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause to your journey.

We also post updates through our south east X and Facebook social media accounts which you can share

Please note lane closure information is not usually provided on our project website or closure bulletins.

In the event of poor weather conditions or other issues out of our control, planned work may be postponed at short notice.

Thank you

Kind regards

Kathryn Boyce
