Editor’s Note: Since the Winchester City Council wards were rearranged in 2016, we have been part of the five-parish three-councillor Ward called Badger Farm and Oliver’s Battery.
The parishes in the ward are Compton & Shawford, Otterbourne, Hursley, Badger Farm and Oliver’s Battery.
Election Cycle: There is a four-year cycle of elections to the City Council and Hampshire County Council. In three years out of four, one-third of the City Council seats come up for election. In the fourth year of the cycle, Hampshire County Council holds its elections. All the seats on the County Council come up for election at once.
Our own ward Councillors have staggered terms. Their terms are:
Jan Warwick – term expires May 2019
Eleanor Bell – term expires May 2020
Brian Laming – term expires May 2022
