VACANCY FOR A COUNCILLOR
Following the resignation of Councillor J Brant, there is a vacancy on Compton & Shawford Parish Council.
Any request for an election by ballot must be made in writing by ten electors of the parish within 14 days (excluding bank holidays, any day appointed for public thanksgiving, Saturdays and Sundays) from 11 September 2017.

There is no standard form for the request. You have to put it in writing, with the signatures of ten electors from the parish, and make sure that the returning officer receives it within 14 working days of the date of the notice. If you have any questions, you should check with the returning officer.
If there is no request by ten electors for a by-election, the Parish Council will seek to fill the vacancy by co-option.
