COUNCILLOR

 

Two vacancies exist on Compton & Shawford Parish Council.

Any request for an election by ballot must be made in writing by ten electors of the parish within 14 days (excluding bank holidays, any day appointed for public thanksgiving, Saturdays and Sundays) from 2 November 2016.

Notes: In compliance with Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, this “Casual Vacancy November 2016” notice above also appears on the Parish Council noticeboards.

There is no set form for the request, as long as it is put in writing, signed by ten electors from the parish, and received by the returning officer within 14 working days of the date of the notice. If you have any questions you should check with the returning officer.

If there is no request by ten electors for a by-election, the Parish Council will publish details of the timetable for filling the vacancies by co-option.
