Referendum on the United Kingdom’s membership of the European Union
- A referendum will be held on Thursday 23rd June 2016 to decide on the question below:
Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union? - Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer Winchester City Council, City Offices, Colebrook Street, Winchester SO23 9LJ, by midnight on Tuesday 7th June 2016.
- New applications for postal votes or amendments or cancellations of existing postal and proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer Winchester City Council, City Offices, Colebrook Street, Winchester SO23 9LJ, by 5 pm on Wednesday 8th June 2016.
- New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer Winchester City Council, City Offices, Colebrook Street, Winchester SO23 9LJ, by 5 pm on Wednesday 15th June 2016.
- Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this referendum applied for on the grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer Winchester City Council, City Offices, Colebrook Street, Winchester SO23 9LJ, by 5 pm on Thursday 23rd June 2016.
The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5 pm on Wednesday 15th June 2016. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5 pm on Wednesday 15th June 2016.
