Award Winning Maps

PSMA Award presentation
On behalf of the Parish Council, Adrian receives the first of two awards from Sir Ian Magee, chair of GI Customer Group

When you are next browsing the Compton and Shawford Parish Council website, take a look at the interactive maps.

At the national Ordnance Survey 2014 PSMA Conference in March, Adrian Walmsley picked up two awards on behalf of the Parish Council for work in the development of the maps on this website.

His paper on the use of OpenSpace Maps won the (catchily titled) PSMA 2014 Methodology Awards for “the most transferrable methodology” and “the most empowering for the community”.

The two other main awards went to Bristol City Council, with large organisations such as three different fire services (including Hampshire) being Highly Commended.

Congratulations and well done Adrian,  for once again putting Compton and Shawford Parish Council well and truly on the map!

Parish councillor

What's the PSMA?
The Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA) was launched on 1 April 2011. It gives public sector organisations, such as local councils, access to Ordnance Survey products for use in print and on the web.
