Atlantic Row 2013 – an evening with Will North
Compton & Shawford News Extra!!
Local Man rows the Atlantic
Our very own Will North, 28, has recently completed rowing the Atlantic with Dan Howie in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, the world’s toughest rowing race. Rowing as team Atlantic Row 2013, they were first in the pairs class and completed the 3000 mile passage in 53 days.
Will North will be at the Pavilion on Wednesday 23rd April, appropriately St George’s Day. You will be able to hear all about his experiences during the voyage, as well as about his boat, the preparation and how he coped with the mental pressure of such a long and dangerous trip.
Where: Compton Jubilee Pavilion
When: Wednesday 23 April 2014
Tickets: £5 each, which will all go to their three charities: Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, Cancer Research UK and St Anna’s, a school and home for orphaned and abandoned children.
A well-stocked cash bar will be open throughout the evening.
Please book your place asap with Paul Murray or Maureen Scammell (contact details on pavilion noticeboard)
Even if you can’t get to the pavilion on 23 April to hear WIll talk, you can still give a donation at Atlantic Row 2013’s Fundraising page
