A34/M3 Junction 9 Winnall Roundabout Improvement Scheme

[ we have received the following information issued on behalf of the Highways Agency]

As part of the Winnall roundabout improvement scheme, there is a requirement to implement full shutdowns of the junction to allow resurfacing work to take place.

These closures are currently scheduled to take place overnight (between 10pm and 5.30am) on the following dates:

  1. Monday 18 November
  2. Monday 25 November
  3. Tuesday 26 November
  4. Wednesday 27 November
  5. Thursday 28 November

Roads included within the shutdown will be:

  • the roundabout circulatory
  • A272 Spitfire Link
  • M3 junction 9 north and southbound slip roads
  • Easton Lane (between the Winnall and Tesco roundabouts)
  • A34 southbound between Bullington Cross (A303) and the Winnall roundabout
  • A34 northbound from the Winnall roundabout to Three Maids Hill (A272)
  • A33 Winchester By-pass between the Winnall roundabout and the B3047 London Road

Various clearly signed diversion routes will be in place which are suitable for both motorway permitted and motorway restricted vehicles – maps showing these routes can be found are on dedicated scheme webpage.

Overnight on Friday 29 November we will then have a full overnight closure of the A34 southbound carriageway from Bullington Cross (A303) to the Winnall roundabout. A signed diversion route will be in place via the A303 and A33.

Please be aware that these closures have been carefully programmed but may be postponed at short notice due to circumstances beyond our control.

I would like to apologise in advance for any disturbance or inconvenience caused by the closures.
