Temporary Road Closures – Various Roads Winchester Area No. 2
11. Compton Street, Compton between its junction with Otterbourne Road and its termination at end of road.
Alternative routes: None
Period of Closure: From 23rd May 2011 for a period of 12 months or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
Notwithstanding the above, it is expected that the closures will be required for no longer than a few days each.
…Closures will be notified a minimum of 2 weeks in advance … reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the work is being carried out.
Parish Council comment
This closure is to allow Compton Street to be resurfaced. The Parish Council understands that the work is likely to be done in the summer holidays and that it may involve closing the street to all traffic for most of the working day.
